Solution started out at the tail end of the 90’s, playing at dances and also performing at various festivals across the capital.  These included London's' Stoke Fest (Clissold Park), Fin Fest (Finsbury Park), Volcano Festival (Hackney Marshes), Shoreditch Car Free Day and London Fields Free Festival, to name just a few. Holding their own alongside some of the UK’s most respected reggae sounds including Channel One, Jah Observer, Gladdy Wax and Jah Youth, Solution soon established a name for themselves on the circuit. Their yearly meeting with co Bass member Gladdy Wax at Stoke Fest in Stoke Newingtons' Clissold Park, became something of an institution.  Offering people the rare opportunity to see two sounds string up side by side in a public space, the event went from strength to strength with literally thousands in attendance during its seventh and final year in 2008.  Other recent festival appearances include Lovebox and Glastonbury Festival.

Musically, Solution offer a truly diverse selection of reggae music which spans many eras, styles and musical patterns, taking in everything from foundation Studio One to today’s freshest musical produce.  Their areas at festivals are known for being welcoming and inclusive, bringing people of all walks of life together to enjoy quality music.

As BASS members the opportunity for Solution to appear at Notting Hill Carnival from 2012 arose as result of Jah Observer’s announcement that they were planning to emmigrate to Jamaica. Jah Observer were keen to identify and support Solutions' nomination as potential custodians of their site located on Ledbury Rd.  With the two sound systems  already having shared many joint associations in the past, this makes perfect sense and potentially gives Jah Observer the abilty to return from Jamaica where possible, to jointly share  performances on the site in future years. Having attended Jah Observer at the Carnival for many years, Solution see this opportunity as a huge honour and have commented:

‘We’re all regulars at Jah Observer’s spot.  Austin was the first guest to play on our sound back in the early days of Solution and we’ve always loved the fact that he plays roots music across the board.  The opportunity to play on Ledbury Rd is a huge honour and has given us all the same level of excitement that we had when we first got the sound on the road.  Anyone who has been involved in sound systems will tell you that to have that feeling again is priceless.’
