Virgo International

Located at Oxford Gardens junction with Portobello Road

one of the most popular corners in Carnival

Fast, colourful and full of energy, this family-friendly system busts out r'n'b, hip-hop, reggae, dancehall, bashment, soca, afro beats, UKG and soulful house.

Virgo International (est. 1980) is a family oriented sound-system and its owner is known as Father Floyd. The original members of the sound came from all around the Caribbean at an early age. Floydie Virgo is still running the sound system at present with family members all playing a successful part in up-keeping its original unspoken rules...  quality, music, entertainment & manners at all times. DJ's consists of family members and family friends.

Throughout the years Virgo has seen many sound members come and go, but the sound has virtually unchanged, pumping out clear crisp sounds for all music tastes and occasions, catering for all age groups. Virgo also play at Huddersfield, Luton and Leeds Carnivals, but always look forward to Notting Hill where they have participated since 1981.

A few years ago their entire Sound System equipment was unfortunately stolen one month before Carnival. Like the phoenix they rose again and managed to put together a music system in time for the event. After that Carnival, they built a bigger and better Sound System and adopted the catchphrase:
'you can't keep a good set down'.
